If you ever come to Brittany with no idea of what a Fest-Noz sounds like…
…you’ll get a good idea of it from the unique singing of Marthe Vassalo and her cosinger of ‘kan ha diskan’, Ronan GuĂ©eblez : with their energic band Loened Fall (meaning wild animal in breton), they amplify the tradition to a powerful dancing pattern that has seduced hundreds of young dancers since the band started at the end of the 90s. Accompagnied by the emblematic bombard, played by Sabine Le Coadou, and also by fiddles an guitars, the band has released an second album, « Ă l’Ă©tat sauvage« at the end of 2003, that summarizes years of playing and dancing. Same quality as the first album (an deiziou zo berr, 1998), it gives a good insight into the variety of breton dance rythmes, that local tradition has brought to the new century.
